The Salt Myth
High quality naturally harvested sea salt is an essential part of our diet.
What is dangerous is the 'plain salt' which lacks many trance minerals, because during the refining process the minerals are removed and then sold to the chemical industry or to pharmaceutical companies to make dietary supplements.
In order to make the colour of the salt white the salt is washed. In this process valuable trace minerals are also lost. At this stage chemicals are also added to make the salt 'free flowing' and the final product sold on store shelves everywhere is very harsh on the body and should be avoided.
Good quality NATURAL SEA SALT has many minerals which regulate the acid-alkaline balance, the hormonal activity, the enzymatic activity, the electrical movement in the nervous system and the oxygen transport in the body. These minerals are also necessary for developing and maintaining the bones, teeth, muscles, and all body functions. Minerals cannot be made by the body so they must be obtained from our food.
The sea salt I recommend is Celtic Sea Salt, it is harvested in Brittany near the Celtic Sea in the north-west of France. Cold active north sea currents, large tides and other marine and climatic conditions, offer the advantage of a unique mix of minerals. It is this combination of minerals that gives Celtic Sea Salt its special qualities to nourish us.
