Fruits

Fruits as a category are very acidic and can be recommended for persons that have eaten a lot of animal protein or for people that are doing very hard physical work and activities and during transition to a more vegetable/grain based diet. If you ate a diet rich in animal products for many years then eating fruits for a time can be quite helpful.

Although it is true that fruits have a lot of vitamins and fibre there are better sources such as grains and vegetables that will not acidify your blood and weaken your overall condition.

Fruits should not be eaten by sick people with weak constitutions or by people in a weakened condition. Those following a basically vegetarian, vegan or macrobiotic diet for some time do not need much, if any, fruit.

Again, if you do eat fruits, eat organic locally grown fruits that are in season. Temperate climate fruits such as: apples, apricots, berries, cherries, melons, peaches, pears, plums.

Unless you live in a tropical climate it is better to avoid tropical fruits such as: bananas, grapefruit, mangoes, citrus, papayas, pineapples
